| Rippleside, Geelong
The former Rippleside shipyards in North Geelong is to be developed into a waterfront village comprising twelve medium and high density residential buildings, incorporating traditional townhouse and apartment housing models, and hybrid forms of each.
The topography, shape and context of the site provided unique opportunities for an innovative design solution to each building.
Several distinct precincts are proposed, each centred around common landscaped gardens and squares, or along the water’s edge.
The above characteristics of the site and brief, together with the three different approaches by separate architectural firms working collaboratively, will result in a series of diverse buildings, each with their own identity, yet linked together in a coherent urban landscape.
